Cookie policy

This policy explains what cookies are, how this website uses them and similar technologies, and how you can manage them.

01

What are cookies?

Cookies are small files stored on your computer, phone or tablet when you visit a website. They can help a website work, remember your preferences or show how visitors use it.

Similar technologies, such as local storage, can also store information on your device. In this policy, “cookies” includes these technologies.

Cookies may be set by the website you visit (first-party) or by another organisation providing a feature on it (third-party).

02

Types of cookies

Cookies are usually grouped by purpose. Not every type is used on our website.

Essential

Needed for a feature you ask for, such as submitting a form securely. These do not need consent.

Preference

Remember choices such as display settings.

Analytics

Show how visitors use a website. Only used if you accept them.

Advertising

Track browsing to personalise adverts. We do not use these.

03

Cookies and storage we use

  • is-theme (local storage, first-party, preference): remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. It stays on your device until you clear it, and is never sent to us.
  • Google Fonts (third-party): our fonts are loaded from Google’s servers, which receive technical data such as your IP address to deliver them. Google Fonts does not set cookies.
  • Form provider (third-party, essential): when you use a form, our form provider may set essential cookies to protect against spam and submit your form securely.

is-cookie (local storage, first-party, essential): remembers your cookie choice so we do not ask again. It stays until you change your choice or clear your browser’s site data.

Analytics (optional): if we add analytics in future, these cookies will only be set after you select Accept all. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

04

Your choices

When you first visit, a cookie notice lets you choose Accept all or Essential only. Optional cookies are never set unless you accept them, and continuing to browse does not count as consent. You can change your choice at any time using the button below. This page is linked from the footer of every page.

Change cookie settings

Refusing optional cookies will not stop you using the main parts of the website.

05

Browser settings

Most browsers let you view, delete or block cookies in their privacy or security settings. You may be able to:

  • Delete cookies already stored
  • Block cookies from particular websites
  • Block third-party cookies
  • Clear cookies and site data when you close the browser

Clearing site data will reset your light or dark mode choice. Blocking essential cookies may stop forms from working.

06

How long cookies last

Some cookies expire when you close your browser. Others stay until their expiry date or until you delete them. Our theme preference stays until you clear your browser’s site data.

07

Other websites

Links may take you to other websites, which are responsible for their own cookies and privacy practices.

08

Personal information

Some information collected through cookies can be personal information. Our privacy policy explains how we handle it and your rights.

09

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy if the website’s features or the technologies we use change.
